What should you expect when attending Evangel Heights??
What are your services like?
Our weekend services are designed to be powerful and inspiring. Each service runs approximately 75 minutes. Our music is upbeat and engaging. Our messages are Biblical, and relevant. We talk about the real things you face every day and seek to connect God’s wisdom and Word to your life. We also believe that church should be one of the most enjoyable experiences you have during the week, so feel free to laugh!
What time should I get there?
Our morning service starts at 10:00 AM. We recommend you arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the service. This is especially important if you have children. Checking-in children to their age-appropriate environments takes a couple of extra minutes. You can check your children in to our nursery center as well as our Rock Solid Kidz Services. Also, feel free to stop by our café for a great cup of coffee before the service.
Is childcare provided?
We have a nursery center for infants through Pre-School, Junior Kidz Church for Kindergarden through 1st Grade, and Rock Solid Kidz Church for 2nd - 6th Grade during the morning service.
What should I do with my kids the first time I attend?
If you are bringing a child [birth-6th gradel], please stop by our information booth, located in the church lobby. This area is staffed with volunteers who will give you a brief tour of our facility and provide you with all the information you need to know about our children's ministries.
What happens when I visit your church?
First of all, we want you to feel welcome. When you visit Evangel Heights, you will not be put on the spot in any way. Whether you are seeking a new church home, or simply desiring to know more about who Jesus is, we want you to feel like you are among family.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. God is clear in His Word that He does not look on the outward appearance but rather into the heart of a person. The dress and atmosphere at Evangel Heights tends to be casual. Wear jeans. Wear a tie. It’s your decision. We want you to be comfortable.
What kind of church is this?
Evangel Heights is an Assemblies of God church. If you want to learn more about our core beliefs as a church, click here. For a statement on our 16 Fundamental truths, click here.
Is there something for everyone in my family?
Yes! We encourage you to explore this web site to learn more about our ministries for children, teens, adults and seniors.
Do you have small groups?
We believe that lives are changed in the context of community. Because of that, we offer life groups. These groups of 12-15 people meet on a regular schedule in relaxing environments all over our community [most meet in homes]. The Bible is discussed, friendships are made, and lives are changed.
How do I get involved?
Everyone has gifts and talents. Those abilities have been given for the purpose of serving others. There are volunteer opportunities all over Evangel Heights. For more information, click here .
What do you believe about baptism and communion?
We encourage all followers of Jesus to experience baptism. Periodically, we offer a baptism class for people interested in being baptized during one of our services. We baptize by immersion because that was Jesus’ model of baptism. Baptism is not salvation. It is a symbol of the new life that Jesus brings about in the lives of His believers. We believe communion is also a symbol. It symbolizes the body of Jesus that was sacrificed for us. We observe this ordinance throughout the year during our weekend services.
Giving | Offering
A weekly offering/collection is taken during our weekend services. These financial gifts enable this church to fulfill the mission and vision God has given it. We believe in scriptural tithing [giving 10% back to God] as an opportunity to outwardly express our gratitude to God and acknowledge our role as stewards of everything we’ve been given. We do not expect our new guests to participate financially. We want to encourage you to sit back, open your hearts, and enjoy the service, and if God lays it on your heart to give something, by all means, be obedient. But please don't feel pressured to do so.
