DAYCARE

Evangel Heights Children Center exists to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for infants through school age children. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and education experience which promotes each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, while also teaching about Christ at a level that they can understand. Our goal is to support children's desire to be life-long learners and followers of Jesus.

EHCC strives to offer an environment in which children love to learn, teachers love to teach, and families feel at home. We believe that confidence is a critical component to optimal growth in young children. In order for a child to have confidence, we focus on the socialization and self-help skills needed to succeed in other areas of development.

Our center teaches to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards. Children are given the opportunity to explore, experiment, and create in a safe and nurturing environment and are given the freedom to be one-self. We offer a Christian environment that focuses on a creative setting geared to the needs and interest of the children. Lessons are planned to help the children realize that learning can be fun and are geared to each individual need. Our goal is to teach an early foundation of learning to God’s children in a safe, nurturing and Christian environment, so they can be successful throughout their lives

KRISTA PICKARD

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Hello my name is Krista Pickard, I am the new assistant director at Evangel Heights Children’s Center. I have dedicated two decades of my life to nurturing and guiding young minds in the field of childcare. My journey in this rewarding profession began 20 years ago where I found my calling and passion for shaping the future generation.

In April 2015, I achieved a significant milestone in my career by earning my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. This achievement not only reflects my dedication to my profession but also continues my efforts to enhance my skills and knowledge to better serve the children under my care.

My connection to Evangel Heights goes beyond my professional endeavors; it's deeply personal. Not only have I dedicated my career to the nurturing of young minds within the institution, but my own children have also had the privilege of being part of the Evangel Heights family. Witnessing first hand the positive impact of the daycare's ethos and educational approach on my own children has further fueled my passion and dedication to my work.

My journey at Evangel Heights takes an exciting turn as I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to step into the role of Assistant Director. With two decades of experience in childcare and a deep-rooted connection to Evangel Heights, I am excited to bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to my new position.

Hi! My name is Ashley Stover and I am the Director here at Evangel Heights Children's Center. From the time I was in middle school I knew I wanted to be a teacher or work with children.

I attended Clarion University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I hold a teaching certificate for grades Prek - 4th grade as well as 7th-12th grade. After graduation I worked in a middle school for 5 years working with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. During that time, I also earned a Master's Degree in Higher Education.

When I had our second child, I decided it was time for me to stay home and I took a two year break from teaching. I came to Evangel Heights in 2020 to tour as a parent looking for a preschool for my children and I left with a job offer. I took it as a sign that it was God's plan to bring me here and I have been here ever since.

I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful educational center and I look forward to continued growth over the next many years.
